As a doodalist turned ceramicist turned photographer, I love capturing the communities around me. Driven to explore new cultures, this excitement brought me to Vietnam, where I lived teaching English!

It was during that experience that I learned the processes of human-centered design and pursued deepening my understanding of design at Parsons School of Design in an MFA program.

Since earning my MFA, I have worked in corporate banking, non-profits, a large tech company, and a global design agency. Across all these spaces, my mission as a designer has remained the same: to center communities by designing with them, not just for them

Senior Design Researcher

IDEO

Being a Design Researcher at IDEO I was constantly learning and growing in my craft. Having access to multiple projects with diverse design needs has allowed me to see how design research methodologies and practices can be applied in any industry.

My day-to-day consisted of active listening, collaborating, and learning from teammates, co-workers, and clients. My role is to lead and focus my team on where, how, and why research can help guide us to a solution for the design question we are trying to solve.

SAMSUNG NEXT

At Samsung Next I was fully immersed in their innovation team, as a Design Researcher. This space allowed me to stretch my creative thinking and imagine how various products could exist across the vast ecosystem of Samsung devices. This experience introduced me the true beauty of collaboration and what can be created from it.

While there I conducted generative and evaluative user research studies to discover target audiences. Independently planned, executed moderated studies and usability testing. Analyzed quantitative and qualitative data to uncover user needs for improving the experience.
